The research develops its central axis in understanding the role of the Catholic Church, through some of its paintings, especially of FAG, the CEBS, and CPT, in the fight for land in Northern RS, from the mid-1950s to the present day. It searches to understand the many phases of this mediation, its strategies, its conflicts, and institutional shocks and within the social movements. The social movements analyzed are the Master, the Nonoai conflict between Indians and farmers, the Macali, Brilhante, Annoni, and Coqueiros farms, Encruzilhada Natalino and Che Guevara.
